The specifications have been developed in partnership with clinicians and patients, and aim to improve treatment outcomes and survival, ensure age-appropriate care, and support patients through their cancer journey.
Ashley Ball-Gamble, Chief Executive of TYAC and CCLG said: “Having been involved in developing and shaping these specifications, we are delighted to see them published this week. We are particularly pleased with the acknowledgement of the importance of research in improving the patient experience, including through recommendations to increase participation in clinical trials and tumour banking for teenagers and young adults.
“We’ll continue to support services, through our network of expert professional members, to ensure these specifications are implemented fully so that young people with cancer receive the best possible treatment and care.”
