CCLG Special Named Funds

Our Special Named Funds empower families to build a supportive community in honour of children and young people affected by cancer.

What is a Special Named Fund?

Creating a fund in their name is a meaningful way to make a difference, without the need to set up your own charity.

The funds you raise go directly to the area of our work you choose, whether it’s pioneering research into a specific cancer, early diagnosis initiatives, or other areas of our vital work. It’s straightforward, we’ll be with you every step of the way, and you’ll be helping create a brighter future for children and young people with cancer.

Having a fund allows you to fundraise in your own way, at your own pace, whilst also trusting CCLG to ensure all donations go to your chosen area of support.

We don’t expect you to fund an entire research project yourself, and where necessary, we will combine gifts raised by other Special Named Funds and general charitable donations. This is to make sure the funds are used to support the research area you have chosen as soon as possible.

Why set up a Special Named Fund?

  • Join a community

We have over 100 Special Named Funds active, forming a community of like-minded families.

  • Fund vital research

Our funds have raised over £4.8 million, which funds research that matters to our Special Named Fund families.

  • Bring people together

Fundraising is a powerful way to bring everyone together and can provide a much-needed focus at a difficult time.

  • Do something practical

Many families feel comforted by doing something practical to improve futures for children and young people with cancer.

"We are so proud of what we have achieved over the last few years. It has not always been easy, sometimes very hard and upsetting, but what has given us both strength is the massive support in our home town of Barrow-in-Furness. Not only are Team Jake helping to support CCLG in finding a cure for this disease, but they are ensuring that Jake's memory continues to shine."
