Supportive Care Education Day

Everyone with an interest in supportive care in paediatric oncology is welcome to join us so please encourage all members of your team to attend. The day will feature a varied and engaging programme from international expert multidisciplinary speakers presenting new developments and research.

This year's CCLG Supportive Care Education Day will be held in person on Friday 6 June 2025 at Simpkins Lee theatre, Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford, Norham Gardens, Oxford OX2 6QA.

Sessions will include:

  • Integrating artificial intelligence to oncology research (Clifton Thornton, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia)
  • Updates on photobiomodulation (Claudia Heggie, University of Leeds)
  • Fertility preservation: the past, present and future (Sheila Lane, Oxford)
  • The gut microbiome in children with cancer undergoing high dose chemotherapy (Graeme O'Connor, GOSH
  • Ambulatory care (Alison Finch, UCLH)
  • Patient and public involvement in paediatric oncology research (Helen Pearson, Royal Marsden)
  • Research and Quality Improvement abstract presentations
  • Plus updates on febrile neutropenia, sodium thiosulphate and mucositis

Registration deadline: Wednesday 28 May 2025.

Abstract submission

We are interested to hear about your work on supportive care in children with cancer. This may include a piece of research, an audit or quality improvement project conducted locally. This is your opportunity to share your work with our community of healthcare professionals who care for children and young people. The deadline for submission is 17:00 on Friday 9 May 2025.
