Treatment may include chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery or a combination of the above. Most patients will have chemotherapy that will be discussed in greater detail.
The leaflets address:
- How to avoid infections
- Common side effects of treatment
- Why it is essential to continue with the treatment
- What to do if your child has a fever
- Frequently asked questions about treatment
- Keeping a record of important contact details
The PODC is a specialist group of consultants, doctors and nurses involved in treating children with cancer across the world.
Leaflets in additional languages are currently in development and we aim to have these available shortly.
